Loosen up old-school formality with a few easy-chic accents.
A combination of old school style and 21st-century ease. The goal of this project was to honor the architectural integrity of this Georgian home while opening up a few of the rooms making the spaces functional for modern-day living. Maintaining the elegance and more formal nature of the main floor whilst modernizing it was key. The second and third floors were designed to reflect a variety of bedroom comforts and family room spaces. Moving the main laundry-room from the basement to the 2nd floor adjacent to the master bedroom was a game-changer. A neutral colour palette throughout ensured the modern art collection was properly curated. A combination of antiques, modern upholstery and the layering of accents insured each room had a distinct personality that one could explore over and over.
